Why move into a Retirement Village?

Hibiscus Retirement Villages is not a group of "Old Age Homes". Established in 1962, the Village of Happiness was the first retirement village based on "Life Right" in the country. Offering more than a sectional title or share block scheme, we set out to assist retired people by offering security which goes far beyond access control or a patrol guard.

Peace of mind of the family is a consideration as is peace of mind when emergency medical attention is required. We provide around the clock emergency services to the villages as well as providing a panic button to each cottage or flat .

A post office as well as transport to the shops is available.

Maintenance to cottages and flats is provided for in the levies and includes internal as well as external maintenance. A garden service looks after the grounds but residents are encouraged to maintain their own gardens for as long as they are able.

Residents maintain an independent lifestyle knowing that assistance is available at all times if needed.

The recently completed Hibiscus Heights in the Village of Happiness has made available a further 54 flats.

This building also houses the Frail Care division of Hibiscus Retirement Villages. 80 beds are available for frail residents as well as residential residents who require no nursing. We also provide a clinic service for residents recuperating from illness or operations.

Our Frail Care and clinic service is supervised by a matron and professional nurses assisted by the Society's Doctor.

Life Right?

Hibiscus Retirement Villages sells cottages and flats on the basis of Life Rights. This gives right of tenure to residents for the rest of their lives.

The Life Right is free of Transfer Duty and Commission, and is fully refundable.

Levies are based on the direct cost of running each village.

The cost of a Life Right is related to the type and size of a cottage or flat and is market driven. Cottages and flats are refurbished to high standards.
